Raisa Chowdhury

Raisa Chowdhury is in the fourth year of her Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Business Analytics and a minor in Data Science at the University of Calgary. In Summer 2020, she completed an internship at Deloitte as a Business Analyst in Technology Strategy and Transformation. Her involvement with the HCC began in her first year as a project member and has culminated to her current role as President. For the past two years, Raisa has been on Haskayne’s Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (ICBC) team, a national case competition, and is competing on the Human Resources team this year. She is an avid reader, and in her free time, also loves to bake and travel. Raisa hopes to pursue a career in technology strategy or technology governance after graduation.

Jessica Vu

Jessica Vu is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts combined degree in Business and Global Development Studies with a Certificate in Sustainability Studies. She has been involved with the HCC since her first year as a Junior Executive, and was a consultant on the club’s Marketing Design and Strategy consulting project in Winter 2019. In her second year with the HCC, Jessica took on the role of Director of Student Development, and was a project manager for one of the club’s consulting projects. Jessica is on the executive teams of other clubs, is a peer helper in multiple University of Calgary offices, and has over five years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She is passionate about sustainability and community development, which has led her to taking on consulting projects with nonprofits or SMEs both locally and internationally. Jessica has an adventurous side, as one of her main goals is to backpack around the world and she also loves extreme sports such as paragliding and skydiving. Jessica is considering pursuing a Master of Social Work or related field in the future.

Mackenzie Goulding

Mackenzie Goulding is a fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources at the Haskayne School of Business. This past summer, she completed an internship at TC Energy as a Talent Acquisition Co-Op Student. Mackenzie is extremely passionate about the people side of business and is interested in further exploring the nonprofit sector. She was previously part of the Commerce Undergraduate Society (CUS), where she worked to get sponsorships for nonprofit organizations. Mackenzie plays five instruments and can always find comfort in music because it helps her de-stress and focus. In the future, Mackenzie can see herself working for the Government of Canada’s Ottawa HR department.

Ethan Stokes

Ethan Stokes is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting at the Haskayne School of Business. This fall, he is completing an internship at ResolvMD working on business strategy. Next summer, Ethan will be interning at Ernst and Young (EY) in Assurance. In Winter 2020, Ethan was a project consultant on the HCC’s WestJet project. Ethan is also very involved in various case competitions, placing first at the Haskayne Accounting Case Competition (HACC) and the EY Challenge this past academic year. This year, he will be an Accounting delegate for JDC West Team Haskayne. He is also interested in the healthcare sector, and has been volunteering weekly at the South Health Campus Emergency Department for a year. Ethan is an avid non-fiction reader, and in his free time enjoys photography and runs an aviation focused YouTube channel. Ethan is interested in pursuing a career in accounting after graduation.

Richard Rocha

Richard Rocha is a fifth-year Finance student at the Haskayne School of Business, and this is his second year as Director of Finance with the HCC. His first experience with the club was an internship with Borealis GeoPower in Fall of 2019, where he gained valuable experience and built lasting relationships. He was also a project manager for the HCC’s Interface Fluidics consulting project in Winter 2020. His experience on Haskayne’s JDC West team as Business Strategy delegate in 2018, and Business Technology in 2019, played a major role in shaping Richard’s passion for management consulting.  In August 2019, Richard completed an 8-month co-op term at Wells Fargo. When he’s not in class or working, you can find him playing sports of all kinds with a particular love for basketball. After graduation, Richard is looking forward to pursuing a career in management consulting.

Adrianna Dolata

Adrianna Dolata is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance with a minor in Economics at the University of Calgary. She has been involved in numerous case competitions, such as the RBC Fast Pitch Competition, the EY Challenge, and the Haskayne Accounting Case Competition (HACC). This year, she will be a Finance delegate on JDC West Team Haskayne. Adrianna is committed to staying involved in her community, volunteering at CBC, the Regina Folk Festival, and organizing concerts at multiple retirement homes in Regina. Music has always been part of Adrianna’s life, as she has been playing piano for over 15 years, and is currently working on obtaining her Associate Diploma (ARCT) from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). She is interested in pursuing a career in investment banking or corporate finance.

Rachel Hughes

Rachel Hughes is a fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources at the Haskayne School of Business. She has recently completed a 12-month co-op term in the Organizational Effectiveness department at Pembina Pipeline Corporation. Rachel has been a member of the HCC for the past three years and in Winter 2020, was a project consultant on the Interface Fluidics project. She is a student leader, serving on the executive teams for Enactus Calgary and World Vision UCalgary. Rachel has been involved in numerous case competitions, such as the Inter Collegiate Business Case Competition (ICBC), the Ted Rogers Ethical Leadership Case Competition, and the McDonough Business Strategy Challenge. When she’s not busy with a case competition or project, you can find Rachel outdoors either hiking, kayaking, or canoeing. In the future, Rachel hopes to pursue a career in either consulting or law.

Steven Gu

Steven Gu is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering. Upon entering university, Steven has taken a greater interest in business and hopes to incorporate his business and technical knowledge in the future to create his own tech-based company. He has been involved with the HCC since April 2019, having held two executive roles prior to his current role as Director of Outreach. He is interested in math, physics, and philosophy, and spends his free time programming and participating in debates. He is currently part of the ZEUS Electric Motorcycle club’s electrical team that replaces traditional gas engines from bikes with electric power generators. Steven also has a love for sports, as he enjoys skiing, swimming, badminton, and going to the gym.

Grace Chang

Grace Chang is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Calgary. She has been an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at a firm in New York City since June 2020. She is also currently co-managing a multi-million dollar healthcare consulting project and is involved as a Scotiabank Global Capital Markets Scholar. Grace has been involved with the HCC for the past two years, participating in its consulting projects, workshops, and case competitions. As this year’s Director of Student Development, she hopes to create activities that help students interested in a career in consulting regardless of their educational background. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, running, and hiking. Grace hopes to pursue a career in management consulting.

Zain Khan

Zain Khan is a first-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance at the Haskayne School of Business. He is currently participating in the EY Leadership Development Program and will be partaking in HCC’s consulting projects in 2021. Zain has a passion for sports having played rugby, wrestling, cross-country, track & field, and most importantly basketball as he is a huge Raptors fan. He enjoys traveling and helping others, and has spent a year abroad teaching english. He also enjoys diving, whether it’s skydiving or scuba diving! Zain is hoping to pursue a career in financial consulting.

Kyle Minato

Kyle Minato is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting at the Haskayne School of Business. He is currently an assurance intern at PwC this summer. During his undergraduate career, Kyle has completed projects and internships with the HCC and has been involved in numerous case competitions. This year, he is on the Business Policy team for Haskayne’s Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (ICBC) team. Kyle is interested in management consulting, finance, and accounting. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and watching mixed martial arts (MMA).

Luke Lumbard

Luke Lumbard is a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts combined degree in Accounting and Economics at the University of Calgary. He is currently interning as a summer analyst at Broad Street Bulls Venture Capital. In his first year, Luke participated in the HCC’s 2020 case competition and served as a SozenTech project member. Luke has been involved in various case competitions, and will be a Business Technology Delegate for JDC West Team Haskayne this year. He is also interested in fashion, the private equity side of finance, and staying up to date with current events. Luke is interested in pursuing a career in venture capital economics.

Suhas Lal

Suhas Lal is a second-year Masters of Business Administration (MBA) student at the Haskayne School of Business. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and worked for DXC Technology for almost three years. In addition to working with major clients in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America, he fostered growth and connection at the workplace by taking on a mentorship role at the company. Suhas is an active member of the Haskayne community, as he enjoys participating in case competitions and has recently completed a capstone technology consulting project through the MBA program. Suhas loves playing volleyball and squash, and outdoor activities such as hiking. Upon graduation, he hopes to work as a strategy consultant or business technology analyst.

Miguel Almario

Miguel Almario is a fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts combined degree in International Business Strategy and Philosophy with a Certificate in Sustainability Studies. He is currently interning at Innovate Calgary as project lead of an initiative that creates efficient operating systems for start-ups. Miguel is entering his fourth year on the University of Calgary’s varsity rugby team, and is also the president and founder of the “They, I Am” Collective, a new club that aims to reduce the stigma around mental health by encouraging creative expression. In Winter 2020, Miguel participated in the HCC’s consulting project for the nonprofit organization Redefined. This year, he will be a Human Resources delegate for JDC West Team Haskayne. Miguel is a dedicated writer, as he is currently working on a book and has had his poems published in numerous magazines. He is also very passionate about film, music, video games, and Olympic weightlifting. Miguel is planning on receiving a master’s degree in philosophy and ultimately pursuing a career in consulting or law.

Ahmad Hanafy

Ahmad Hanafy is a fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Energy and Environment Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering. In August 2020, he completed an internship at ConocoPhillips Canada in Facilities and Automation Engineering. Ahmad is also on the executive councils of the Energy and Environment Engineering Student’s’ Association (EEESA), the Petroleum and Energy Society, Fuse Collective the Solar Car Team, where he has been able to apply his engineering and business skills. Ahmad has been passionate about animal and landscape photography for over 10 years, and enjoys taking workshops and classes in his free time. After graduation, Ahmad hopes to continue his education by pursuing a master’s degree in Germany in the fields of Data Science and AI.

Matthew Backhouse

Matthew Blackhouse is a fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at the University of Calgary. In Winter 2020, he was a project member for the HCC’s Exceedia project where his team created mathematical models to improve the functionality of his client’s database. He has been volunteering at the Calgary Public Library for two years as a tutor. Matthew is very passionate about music and has been playing the drums for almost a decade. He hopes to pursue a Master degree in Statistics or Mathematical Science, and envisions himself with a career in quantitative analysis and trading.
